Control and risk prevention of dangerous materials and crisis management

Rationale
Starting from the experience of the Lombardy Region on transportation of dangerous materials (half of the total transport in Italy), this workshop intends to compare methodologies, guidelines and standards, compare models of civil and security prevention, facilitate methods and know-how transfer.
The Advanced Research Workshop represents also an opportunity to collect, share and implement information and data on prototypes and methodologies on this subject and to verify the benefits deriving from satellite applications techniques, at the International level.
Therefore, the proposed workshop has been conceived with the contribution of various countries from the Balkans, and other European countries, in order to define a common approach by illustrating different needs and realities.
The aim of the event
The event will gather scientists and experts with different backgrounds from NATO Countries, eligible NATO Partner and Mediterranean Dialogue countries.
The workshop represents an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss potential ways forward in the domain of reference and networking.
The results of the workshop will be published as NATO Science for Peace and Security Series – Environmental Security, published by Springer Science and Business Media.
